WNU receives B Corp certification

The brand said this ‘reinforces its commitment to a continuous improvement process on environmental and social actions’

WNU has announced that it has achieved B Corp certification, commiting to a “continuous improvement process” on its commitment to environmental and social actions.

B Corp is one of the most demanding certifications that evaluates brands’ social and environmental impact, with over 300 questions on governance, workers, communities and impact on the environment.

Founder and CEO, Pip Durell, said: “I am delighted to announce that WNU has achieved B Corp certification. We are very proud to be joining this community. As a business I truly believe we need to take full accountability for the impact we have on both people and planet, transforming how we do business and making sure that accountability is public.

“This isn’t just about ecological accountability either – a huge factor in this assessment is to do with the people we employ and the way we treat each other. B Corp assessment evaluates everything: from a company’s contribution; to its employees’ financial security, wellness and career development; to measuring aspects such as the pay disparity within the company from the top to the bottom; and topics including diversity, equity and inclusion.”

She added: “This year marks another milestone for our brand: Five years in business. I am delighted to have achieved this recognition during a year that has also seen us open our very first bricks and mortar store on Elizabeth Street in London. I want WNU to be at the forefront of making the changes we want to see in the fashion industry, and B Corp offers us a powerful framework within which to accelerate and guide this transformation.”
