M&S CFO Humphrey Singer to depart on 31 December

Marks and Spencer has announced that Humphrey Singer will step down from his role as CFO on 31 December.

The departure was announced last month after Jill McDonald, managing director of clothing, home and beauty, also departed from the company after less than 2 years.

Singer began his retail career in 2007 where he joined as a finance manager. Before he joined M&S he was the group finance director for Dixons Carphone.

Singers departure was announced on 23 September.

Recently, four new directors have been appointed to strengthen the senior team at Marks and Spencer’s food business before its tie-up with Ocado.

Tesco strategy director Pav Anand has been appointed as head of food strategy and Sainsbury’s head of technical, with Lisa Raschia as head of produce and horticulture.

Danish Crown supply chain director David Stokes has also been appointed head of sourcing, and Laurissa Kuligowski, from PwC will step into the role of commercial strategy and operations director.
