Stuart Hill leaves Matches for DHL CEO role

Prior to his role in Matches, Hill worked as VP and SVP of logistics at Farfetch

Stuart Hill, COO of Matches Fashion, is set to leave his role to join DHL UK as its new CEO.

In his new role, Hill will lead the company through the next phase of growth and oversee the opening of the company’s second hub in Coventry later this year.

Prior to his role in Matches, Hill worked as VP and SVP of logistics at Farfetch. He also served as a career manager and project and solution manager at John Lewis and as head of customer logistics and international operations at Asos.

The news of Hill’s departure comes after Matches was acquired by Frasers in a £52m deal back in December 2023.

The Matches business has been loss making in recent years, and adjusted EBITDA for the year ended 31 January 2023 fell to a £33.5m loss.

In a LinkedIn post, Hill said: “This week I start a new role as CEO of DHL eCommerce UK. I am looking forward to re-engaging with the world of parcel delivery, in a company recognised for its unparalleled breadth and scale as we forge ahead with expansion.

“A special thanks to Peter Fuller who is retiring after seven years as CEO, during which time he managed the integration of UK Mail into DHL and re-established the DHL brand as a major domestic carrier in the UK.”
