Loaf appoints CCO

On this episode of Talking Shop I’m joined by Alain Bejjani—former Group CEO of Middle East retail giant Majid Al Futtaim, and author of the definitive new book, NEXT: Leading Through the New Realities. Drawing on his childhood in war-torn Beirut, and his experience steering a $9.5bn dollar retail and lifestyle empire through a global pandemic, Alain brings an unmatched perspective on leadership under pressure. Today, we break down his crisis survival playbook for retailers operating in distress. We discuss why resilience must always outpace efficiency, the four assets a brand must protect at all costs, and how to turn macro-turmoil into a long-term direction that scales.

Loaf, homeware and furniture retailer, has appointed Theodore Sheppard as its new chief commercial officer.

Sheppard will be responsible for driving sales and growing market share. He will be defining the direction for the brand and devising the company’s sales and marketing strategies.

Leading the marketing, creative and retail teams, he will oversee Loaf’s omnichannel presence and roll-out of new Loaf showrooms to ensure the company continues to “deliver an exceptional experience” for its customers.

Sheppard joins from River Island, having spent seven years there, where he was director of international and business development. Before joining River Island, he held positions at Calvin Klein/PVH and Hugo Boss where he was responsible for sales and partnerships.

Charlie Marshall, founder and CEO at Loaf, said: “I’m thrilled to have Theodore join Loaf. He joins armed with a wealth of experience from his years spent in the fashion industry. We have a lot of exciting plans for the company and I’m excited to work with Theodore as we continue to grow the brand.”

Sheppard will start his new role in September 2022, replacing Robert White.
