Morrisons has announced it will cut the price of around 650 products ahead of Winter, which it predicts will lead to an average saving of 18% for customers.
Key volume items such as chicken breast fillets, laundry pods and vegetables are included in the price cuts, and will remain on promotion for at least four to eight weeks.
The company said the move marks the next step of its “journey to help make household budgets go further ahead of heightened spending moments like Christmas”.
Among the items in the latest round of price cuts are:
- Family meal staples, including rice and pasta, fresh vegetables and chicken breasts
- Everyday basics, such as olive oil, kitchen and toilet rolls, laundry pods and mayonnaise
- Cold weather items like soups and cold and flu tablets
Alex Paver, Pricing and Customer director at Morrisons, said: “At Morrisons we believe great quality should be affordable for everyone, and we know that the cost of everyday products really matter to our customers right now.
“That’s why we’re cutting the prices of over 650 items, from fresh favourites to cupboard staples, so our customers can trust they’re getting real value every time they shop with us. These price cuts mean customers can spend less on the essentials and still enjoy the great quality Morrisons is known for.”
