Co-op has opened its newest purpose-built, 4,000 sq ft store in Aberdeen’s King Street, creating 15 local jobs.
The store opens between 7am and 10pm daily and provides hot food, in-store bakery and a Costa coffee dispenser, alongside regular supermarket categories. There is also a free ATM and customer car parking, which will soon provide two electric vehicle charging points.
The King Street Co-op is available for home grocery delivery through Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats. Parcel collection services will also be offered through Amazon.
In addition, a soft plastic recycle unit is available in store for crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals and yoghurt pots, biscuit wrappers, and pet food pouches.
Ross O’Reilly, manager of Co-op’s new Aberdeen store, said: “The store has a great look. It has been purpose-built to deliver an excellent shopping experience, and we are really looking forward to welcoming Members and customers into their Co-op.
“Our aim is to operate at the heart of local life, and we’ve worked hard to develop the range, choice and added services to create a compelling offer to serve and support our community, conveniently. This includes a focus on delivering member-value so that the people who own our business, our members, benefit every time they shop.”
