Vestiaire Collective co-founder steps down after 16 years

On the final episode of season three we sit down with Claire Watkin, CEO of The Fine Bedding Company, a fourth-generation business founded in 1912. She shares how the brand has performed in recent years and what its proposition really stands for today. We explore balancing heritage with innovation, building sustainability into products and operations, and the journey to a zero-waste eco-factory in Estonia. Claire also unpacks earning consumer trust, making the investment case, and her advice to the next generation of leaders.

Fanny Moizant, co-founder of Vestiaire Collective, has stepped down from the luxury resale platform after 16 years, following organisational changes at the company.

In a statement posted on LinkedIn, Moizant said: “After 16 years… it’s time for me to say goodbye. I am leaving the company as part of the recent organisational changes. This was not a decision I initiated, nor one I expected, but I accept that it marks the end of an extraordinary chapter.”

Vestiaire Collective has positioned itself as an alternative to traditional luxury retail, growing into a global resale platform backed by a number of high-profile investors. The company has not commented further on Moizant’s departure or said whether a replacement will be appointed.

Reflecting on her time at the business, she said: “Since co-founding Vestiaire Collective in 2009, I’ve had the immense privilege of building a company with a soul, a purpose, and a powerful mission: changing the fashion industry from the inside – one second-hand item at a time.

“For 16 years, I woke up every day proud to do this work. It was never just a job. It was a calling, a cause, a fierce belief that circularity matters — for the planet, for future generations, for the industry itself.”

She added: “I want to thank the many people I’ve crossed paths with along the way — team mates, partners, creators, and activists — and especially those I had the honour of working with inside Vestiaire. You’ve always been its beating pulse — I trust you to carry its values forward with conviction and integrity.

“To our incredible community of customers — thank you. You’ve been the soul of this movement from the very start. Vestiaire still needs you: every treasure you give new life to is a quiet rebellion for a better fashion future.”
