John Lewis has unveiled its Christmas shops to customers nationwide, featuring more than 1,000 decorations.

The announcement comes as demand for festive products has surged since the launch of the online shop last month, which saw sales of Christmas decorations up 25% compared to the same period last year.

Supersized decorations such as the new Holiball giant inflatable baubles are set to be bestsellers this year, while Christmas lights sales have increased tenfold.

A pick and mix bauble station will be available for the first time, with 32 different baubles to choose from, including chilli’s, cocktails, oat milk and even an air fryer bauble.

Santa’s Grotto and Santa Paws will be in 10 John Lewis stores from 22 November, while kids and animals will be able to meet Santa, have a photo taken and receive a gift. In addition, 25 stores will also offer a ‘Tea with Santa’.

Lisa Cherry, Christmas buyer at John Lewis, said: “We’ve noticed that customers are definitely starting to shop earlier this year, planning for their traditions with Christmas sales already up 25%. This year we’re offering more in store experiences, personalisation and products than ever before from much-loved brands such as Quality Street and Disney.

“We’re also excited to launch our Christmas Markets in seven stores showcasing artisan, handmade products from local businesses.”
