Cosmetics entrepreneur Charlotte Tilbury has been appointed CBE in the King’s Birthday Honours list 2026, alongside several leading figures from the UK retail and fashion sectors.

Tilbury, the founder of Charlotte Tilbury Beauty, received the Commander of the Order of the British Empire for services to the beauty industry and entrepreneurship.

Her business, which launched in 2013, now operates across 57 international markets.

Meanwhile, Amazon UK and Ireland country manager John Boumphrey was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to technology and the digital commerce industry.

Former Dunelm chief executive Nicholas Wilkinson also received an OBE for services to the retail sector following his retirement from the home furnishings business last year.

Other notable sector appointments included OBEs for Kurt Geiger chief executive Neil Clifford, Jimmy Choo creative director Sandra Choi, and ME and EM founder Clare Hornby. Sophie Ross, the founder of childrenswear retailer Trotters, was also appointed OBE.

Tilbury said: “I am deeply honoured to receive a CBE in the King’s Birthday Honours. Just over a decade ago, I had a vision to build the biggest British beauty brand and take it to the world, empowering everyone, everywhere to feel confident and unlock their potential.

“Today, Charlotte Tilbury is a multibillion-pound British business, and I am proud that it has helped establish our beauty industry as one of the UK’s most dynamic and influential business sectors.”

In a LinkedIn post, Boumphrey said: “I’m absolutely delighted to share that I’ve been awarded an OBE in the King’s Birthday Honours list! Growing up as a lad from Birkenhead, this was definitely not part of the plan.

“Thank you to my wonderful family for all your support and for keeping me grounded. And thank you to the thousands of brilliant Amazonians who deliver for customers and community partners across the UK, every single day. This honour really belongs to you.”
