Superdrug has opened its biggest store in Scotland – located in Braehead Shopping Centre.
Superdrug said the 9,324sq ft store means customers will have access to exclusive brands, the latest health and beauty products and luxury fragrances and has also created 10 new jobs in the local area.
The store will also include Superdrug’s new own-brand cosmetics range, Studio London, as well as collections B.Skin, Me+, Vitamin E, Optimum and Naturally Radiant.
As well as an in-store nurse’s clinic, the store also features a Beauty Studio which will offer treatments including nail, lash and piercing services.
Nigel Duxbury, property director at Superdrug, said: “We’re thrilled to be opening the doors to our brand-new store in Braehead. We can’t wait for our local customers to visit – with a professional Beauty Studio, fragrance counter, exclusive brands and more, we’re confident that it’s going to be a hit.”
The news comes after Superdrug announced a pay increase for newly-qualified pharmacists that will see their wages rise to £50k.
According to reports, the high street drugstore is actively recruiting for 200 roles, while also introducing a new ‘financial wellbeing’ package.
There are currently 155 pharmacists working for Superdrug, with an average length of service of seven years.
In addition, the retailer has also introduced a new role, pharmacy team leader, to selected pharmacy stores to enhance its patient experience and operational structure.
Pharmacy team leaders will be dispenser-trained and provide a clear line of accountability for day-to-day dispensary activity, including adhering to legal and clinical frameworks whilst supporting, coaching, and developing a high-performing pharmacy team.
