AO has announced it has scrapped its COO role following the departure of Danny Emmett from the position, according to Retail Week.
Emmett was expected to succeed chief executive John Roberts but has left the business with immediate effect. He worked at AO for nearly 14 years, having first joined the company in 2009 as a senior commercial analyst.
Emmett was named as chief operating officer in February 2019, when founder John Roberts re assumed the role of chief executive.
Roberts said to Retail Week.“After 13 fantastic years at AO, Danny Emmett is leaving the business to pursue other opportunities. Danny’s development through the company to the boardroom is an inspiration to other AOers and we are extremely lucky to have had him.”
