Waitrose customer director Martin George has stepped down after more than five years in the role.
George joined Waitrose in 2017 while holding non-executive roles at private GP network London Doctors Clinic, Grays of Cambridge, PrivateFly, and Hornby Hobbies.
During this time it revealed George oversaw the ‘You can taste when it’s Waitrose and Partners’ campaign, which won a Marketing Society award and has been shortlisted for an IPA Effectiveness Award.
He will remain in his role at Waitrose until a replacement is hired.
George said he made the decision as he plans to return to non-executive roles and take on charity work, dedicating more time towards coaching and mentoring.
George said: “After five wonderful years with the partnership I’ve decided that the time is right, both personally and professionally, for me to step down. It is the unrivalled commitment and capability of our partners that gives me every confidence in the future.”
