Laura Ashley unveils with Mamas & Papas

On this episode of Talking Shop I’m joined by Alain Bejjani—former Group CEO of Middle East retail giant Majid Al Futtaim, and author of the definitive new book, NEXT: Leading Through the New Realities. Drawing on his childhood in war-torn Beirut, and his experience steering a $9.5bn dollar retail and lifestyle empire through a global pandemic, Alain brings an unmatched perspective on leadership under pressure. Today, we break down his crisis survival playbook for retailers operating in distress. We discuss why resilience must always outpace efficiency, the four assets a brand must protect at all costs, and how to turn macro-turmoil into a long-term direction that scales.

Laura Ashley has announced its collaboration with Mamas and Papas, the UK based nursery retailer.

The collaboration collection is set to mark 70 years since Laura Ashley was launched by fashion designer Laura Ashley and Bernard Ashley.

The anniversary collection is expected to include baby clothing, nursery bedding and toys, as well as two Mamas and Papas pushchairs that will feature Laura Ashley’s iconic Victorian era-inspired prints.

The collection will be made available in the UK in spring 2023, with the items being stocked in Next stores, who partnered in 2021.

Sonia Kelly, product director at Mamas and Papas said:“Our new collaboration is a perfect match, both Mamas and Papas and Laura Ashley were born from the belief of creating new and beautiful products that could not be found elsewhere.

“We have a joint synergy, family being at the very heart of our ethos and both believe in the art of storytelling always ensuring beautiful detailing and design in everything we create.”

She added: “Looking back into the Laura Ashley archive we have selected iconic prints from the collection to sit across both hard and soft goods and brought them alive to create contemporary heirlooms for a new generation.”

Poppy Marshall-Lawton, vice president of Laura Ashley said: “We are so happy to be working with Mamas and Papas to launch the Laura Ashley nursery and children’s products that will be distributed internationally.

“With family and home at the heart of our business, this new partnership will bring the Laura Ashley brand to new consumers at a very special time in their lives. As we work towards our 70th anniversary, Laura Ashley continues to grow our network of carefully selected global partnerships.”

The Laura Ashley Mamas and Papas children’s products are set to arrive from spring 2023.
