London-based accessories retailer, Knomo has appointed Oliver Strickland as country manager for the UK.

In his new role, Strickland will oversee the brand’s positioning and wholesale accounts in tandem with Dan Shaw, managing director at the company.

Formerly country manager at Pepe Jeans Group, Strickland has also undertaken leadership roles at Diesel, Burberry, Gant, and Hackett.

During his career to-date he has managed annual sales in excess of £18m and led global teams, specialising in the navigation of domestic and international markets while growing bottom-line profitability.

Strickland recognised that it is a thrill to be joining Knomo at “such an exciting time”.

He said: “We have some big plans for the brand, and as the country slowly eases out of lockdown restrictions we’re ready to kickstart our 2021-2022 growth strategy.”

Known globally for its luxury bags, Knomo currently sits at an “important juncture” after its acquisition by the newly formed Inc Retail Group.

Strickland will be tasked with spearheading growth to the firm’s overseas reach and store expansions under Inc Retail Group’s “growth and development plan”.

Shaw said: “Oliver is a vastly experienced sales manager who brings more than two decades of fashion and retail expertise.

“He has a proven record of improving sales and margins, team management and focused partnership building.”
