Card Factory strengthens executive team with new HR manager

Card and gifts retailer Card Factory has appointed Jennifer Lawrence as executive director of people, effective 1 June 2020.

Lawrence was formerly human resources director at Costcutter and Card Factory said she has over 18 years of experience “shaping and implementing successful people strategies” for leading retailers and large businesses.

During her time at Costcutter, Lawrence was responsible for developing and leading the human resources agenda.

In this role, she initiated a colleague-led inclusion and wellbeing strategy that “significantly” enhanced the company culture, as well as launching a successful leadership development programme which earned recognition from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

Lawrence previously held senior positions at companies including Equifax, Boots and Boots Opticians, where she was a member of the operating committee and responsible for building the HR strategy for all 5,500 employees.

She will lead Card Factory’s people strategy, focusing on developing its employee engagement across its nationwide network of over 1000 stores, in addition to resource planning, development and recruitment.
