Former UK Tesco boss, Matt Davies, will be named as chairman of N Brown after leaving the supermarket giant.

In a move that will make his one of the youngest chairmen of a FTSE-350 company, Davies will be announced as chairman early next week, according to Sky News.

N Brown is the owner of brands such as Jacamo, Simple Be and JD Williams.

Despite only being in his 40s, Mr Davies has previously held chief executive positions at Halford and Pets at Home, adding to his retail experience.

He is due to leave Tesco in April after its £3.7 billion takeover of the wholesaler Booker which was announced earlier this month.
