Fashion retailer Club L London is targeting international expansion after turnover doubled to £44.4m during the year ended 31 March 2024.

According to newly-filed accounts at Companies House, the company achieved a £29.5m turnover in 2023.

The Manchester-headquartered retailer said that the increase in turnover happened despite a backdrop in “poor” consumer confidence caused by high and persistent inflation as well as the cost of living crisis.

Despite the sales success, the brand’s profit before tax dipped from £4.6m in the prior year to £3m.

During the period, the group invested in a new distribution centre and headquarters. The company’s headcount also increased to 94 people, up from 64 in 2023.

In 2025, the directors are confident that profit before tax will increase back to beyond prior year levels during 2025 following continued growth in the brand both in the UK and internationally.

A statement on Companies House said: “The directors expect the group to continue to grow over the coming year with a key strategic focus on increasing international presence.”
