The Sloane Stanley Estate has announced two new design-led independents, Penelope Chilvers and KayaNuka, are joining the King’s Road.

Penelope Chilvers has opened a 1,327 sq ft store on Sloane Stanley’s King’s Road, bringing its “made-to-last fashion” to the Chelsea neighbourhood alongside its locations in Notting Hill, Mayfair, Belgravia, and The Cotswolds.

Combining contemporary, fashion-led design with “enduring style” and traditional Spanish craftsmanship, Penelope Chilvers produces “made-to-last” pieces that work with each season’s trends.

Known for its “Long Tassel Boot”, worn by HRH Catherine, Princess of Wales, Penelope Chilvers’ collections have since grown to include styles such as the “Incredible Boot”, the crepe soled “Neon Safari” boot, and Goodyear welted outdoor footwear for experience and adventure.

Regarding the new opening, Penelope Chilvers said: “I’m delighted to announce the opening of our new store on the King’s Road. This exciting space brings the brand’s distinctive blend of British heritage and contemporary style to the heart of Chelsea.”

Joining the retailer is KayaNuka, the curated jewellery, accessories, and women’s fashion brand. Marking its third pop-up on the Sloane Stanley Estate and showcasing the landlord’s collaborative approach to supporting independent growth, KayaNuka is situated on King’s Road until the New Year.

KayaNuka, which means “Older and Younger” in Cherokee, a Native American language, resembles the mother and daughter duo behind the brand. The pop-up showcases its “inspirational, boho-chic” jewellery collections and delivers a physical insight into the online-only brand.

Georgia Beckett, co-founder at KayaNuka, said: “Sloane Stanley has been so supportive of our physical step into retail, and it has been fantastic to build our brand presence in one of the most iconic retail destinations in London.

“When we had the opportunity to come back for a third time, it was a no-brainer for us – they deliver a solid platform for us to grow and engage with the neighbourhood, and it allows us to host other incredible small businesses and be part of a thriving independent community.”

Hannah Grievson, property director at Sloane Stanley, added: “Penelope Chilvers and KayaNuka are exactly the kind of names we’re after to add to our growing roster of independent brands. Our expertise lies very much in supporting the transition from online presence to physical retail, and is what makes our location so successful.

“Both brands have created solid roots in building their customer base, bringing new visitors to our Estate, and complementing the area in every way possible.”
