Kering appoints Armelle Poulou as CFO

She will continue reporting to Jean-Marc Duplaix, now deputy CEO, in charge of Operations and Finance

Kering has announced the appointment of Armelle Poulou as its new chief financial officer, effective September 1, 2023.

Poulou joined the Group in 2019 and is currently director of Corporate Finance, Treasury and Insurance.

She is a graduate of HEC Business School in 1993, and has successively held a range of positions in France and worldwide, several financial functions at Procter&Gamble, Hewlett-Packard and EDF, before joining Kering.

She will continue reporting to Jean-Marc Duplaix, now deputy CEO, in charge of Operations and Finance.

A global Luxury group, Kering manages the development of a number of Houses in Fashion, Leather Goods and Jewellery: Gucci, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Brioni, Boucheron, Pomellato, DoDo, Qeelin, Ginori 1735 as well a Kering Eyewear and Kering Beautรฉ.

The appointment comes after Kering entered into a binding agreement for the acquisition of a 30% shareholding in Valentino, for a cash consideration of โ‚ฌ1.7bn (ยฃ1.4bn) last week..

The agreement comprises an option for Kering to acquire 100% of the share capital of Valentino no later than 2028.

The transaction is part of a broader strategic partnership between Kering and Mayhoola, which could lead to Mayhoola becoming a shareholder in Kering.

Founded in Rome in 1960 by Valentino Garavani, Valentino is one of the most internationally recognized Italian luxury houses.
