Halfords has announced it has launched new initiatives, including cutting its prices across all of its motoring products, in a bid to to help UK consumers with the rising cost of motoring.

Halford said it comes as its own research found that one in six drivers are “trying to spend as little as possible on their motoring purchases”. As such, Halfords revealed it has dropped prices across all motoring categories, from wiper blades to batteries to car seats and motoring technology.

It also confirmed customers signed up to Halfords’ Premium Motoring Club membership can benefit from an additional 5% pricing discount on top of these new lower prices and has
taken steps to strengthen its price promise, committing to ‘Never Be Beaten on Price’ on motoring essentials.

Halfords added it monitors competitors daily and adjusts pricing accordingly so that “customers can be confident they’re getting the very best deal” on child seats, in-car tech, tyres, fitted bulbs, fitted wipers and fitted batteries, and if they do find a better price elsewhere then the retailer will refund the difference.

Karen Bellairs, chief customer officer at Halfords, said: “The cost-of-living crisis is impacting each and every one of us every single day. In a study conducted this week 44% of respondents are ‘feeling ‘terrified about their finances’.

“At Halfords, we see it as our duty to help drivers motor for less, and that’s why we’ve worked so hard to reduce prices across thousands of motoring essentials, strengthen our Price Match guarantee and made a new pledge that our Autocentres will always be up to 25% cheaper than car dealerships.”

She added: “We know this won’t solve the problem entirely, but it’s our hope that it goes a considerable distance to help motorists up and down the country to stay safe on the road when they need us most.”
