Sainsbury’s opens new Nottingham store
The new Local’s arrival on Clumber Street follows Sainsbury’s recent announcement that it will also be opening its new supermarket in nearby Colwick next month, on the 10th of November 2021

Sainsbury’s has announced the opening of its newest store in Nottingham city centre, Nottingham Clumber Street Local.
Store manager Chris Grace and his team welcomed their first customers after colleagues cut the ribbon during a small ceremony to celebrate the store’s opening.
The new store has a sales floor of 1,950 sq. ft. with over 2,000 products on offer and will serve customers from 7am – 11pm seven days a week.
The new Local’s arrival on Clumber Street follows Sainsbury’s recent announcement that it will also be opening its new supermarket in nearby Colwick next month, on the 10 November.
Both stores are part of a multimillion-pound programme of investments Sainsbury’s is making in Nottinghamshire, which also includes the refurbishment of some existing Sainsbury’s stores in the area.
Patrick Dunne, Sainsbury’s property director, said: “I’m very excited that we’ve opened our new store on Clumber Street, where it will be very well placed to offer even more convenience and choice to residents and visitors in this vibrant part of Nottingham’s city centre.
“Soon to follow will be Sainsbury’s next major investment in Nottingham, our 53k sq. ft supermarket with over 200 colleagues in Colwick, which will open its doors to customers on 10th November.”
Chris Grace, Nottingham Clumber Street local store manager, added: “My team and I have been working hard to get the new store ready for opening and we’re really looking forward to becoming a key part of this bustling community. I know our commitment to brilliant service well help us become a customer favourite on Clumber Street in no time.”
