The lighting design consultancy Nulty has completed its renovation for the late fashion designer Azzedine Alaïa on its London flagship storeAlaïa.

The redesigned Bond Street-based store, which has three floors and 6,000 sq ft, features the work of architect Aukett Swanke and designer Marc Newson with large pelota ring-like luminaire pendants hanging from the first floor ceiling.

Alaïa, whose design took inspiration from Paris stores, also showcases artwork from international artist Kris Ruhs throughout the store, with plexiglass prints, LED luminaires and intricate artwork in the fitting rooms.

Another feature of Nulty’s lighting project is the grand stone façade which displays miniature uplights on the inside of the window framework, accentuating the verticals and curves of the original architecture of the lighting design consultancy.

In addition, the window displays have adjustable ceiling spotlight which enables an increased focus on the luxury goods.

Rebecca Hodge, intermediate lighting designer, said: “The attention to detail within the project is second to none and adds to the uniqueness and identity of the store. From the lighting design in the lift, to the bespoke light boxes in the changing room, every element has been beautifully considered.”
