On this episode of Talking Shop I am joined by Zipline CEO and co-founder Melissa Wong. We discuss how Melissa’s 10 years’ of frontline experience informed her approach to building a SaaS company, the recurring operational frustrations that most head offices still underestimate, and why she believes technology should be designed with the store associate as the primary user. We also explore current trends in store execution and how retailers can bridge the gap between corporate strategy and the shop floor.

British luxury retailer Ted Baker and Beano Studios have announced plans to collaborate on a 2018 ‘Beano Baker’ kidswear collection.

Inspired by Beano’s original Fan Club colours and style guides, the fashion collection will launch in July 2018 consisting of loungewear, shirts, hoodies and t-shirts featuring iconic Beano artwork and characters, which include Dennis and Gnasher.

The ‘Beano Baker’ collection will be available in 45 key Debenhams stores across the country including regions such as Oxford Street, Glasgow, Manchester, Henry Street, Reading and Birmingham.

EVP of global consumer products and TV distribution at Beano Studios, Allison Watkins, said: “Ted Baker and Debenhams are the perfect retail partners for Beano to collaborate and launch a kidswear collection with. Both Beano and Ted Baker are brands recognised to be full of fun, with a high level of mischief.

“In our 80th year, it’s an ideal time for both brands to join together and shine through a blamtastic kids collection available through Debenhams.”

The fashion collection will be available at Debenhams from 2 July and online from mid-July onward.
