The brand, which operated over 90 stores across the UK and Ireland, has secured a 4,000 sq ft space in the centre’s lower mall

On this episode of Talking Shop, we're joined by Dan Cate, CEO and Founder of SoldThrough. Dan is a heavyweight retail executive who has spent decades steering the merchandising and digital operations of America’s most iconic retail institutions, from Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdale’s to Century 21 and Lord & Taylor. Today, through his platform SoldThrough, Dan helps international fashion brands cross the Atlantic and crack the notoriously brutal U.S. retail landscape. We break down his journey from the shop floor to the C-suite, the operational indicators that prove a brand is truly ready for international expansion, and how to navigate a fragmented American market without destroying your margins. We also discuss how to balance localised inventory with central efficiency, and the one non-negotiable metric that tells you a product has found genuine market fit.

Oliver Bonas will open its latest store at Lakeside Shopping Centre later this summer, as part of its ongoing expansion strategy across the UK.

The brand, which operates over 90 stores across the UK and Ireland, has secured a 4,000 sq ft space in the centre’s lower mall. The launch will mark the latest addition in the brand’s expansion.

Lakeside, one of the UK’s largest out-of-town shopping destinations, is known for its supply of premium retailers, attracting a catchment area of 7.2 million people.

The signing will follow that of other premium brands including The White Company, Puresoul and SpaceNK.

Robert Jewell, managing director of Asset Management at Pradera, said: “The addition of Oliver Bonas to Lakeside further cements our position as a UK top five out-of-town super-regional destination, supporting our retailer’s long-term growth and bolstering their customer engagement.”

Sevda Cankorur, head of retail at Oliver Bonas, added: “Oliver Bonas has experienced significant growth and resounding success spearheaded in part by our ability to continually identify the best-of-the-best locations in which to launch.

“Lakeside firmly sits within this classification as one of the UK’s leading lifestyle destinations.”
