Pet retailer Jollyes has confirmed that Adam Dury has been formally appointed as chief executive officer after becoming CEO-designate in October 2025.

Dury joined the firm as chief operating officer in January 2025. He previously held commercial roles at Card Factory, Tesco, and Marks and Spencer. The company also confirmed Gary Temple as permanent chief financial officer. Temple held the role on an interim basis for 12 months.

The leadership team includes Temple, chief marketing officer Sean McGinty, chief people officer Claire Goldenberg, and commercial director Anne Galloway. David Stokes recently joined the group as retail and supply chain director. The appointments coincide with a five-year strategy to increase market share.

Jollyes currently trades from 120 stores. It recently identified 160 towns and cities where it intends to open new sites by the 21st Century’s third decade. The retailer has opened four stores in 2026, including sites in Blackpool and Hartlepool. It will open a Lincoln branch on 15 May 2026.

Further launches are scheduled for Kidderminster on 29 May 2026, Yeovil on 19 June 2026, and Derby on 10 July 2026. The firm recently launched Simply Jollyes, an own-label range. It aims to support households containing the 36.5m pets currently living in the UK.

According to company data, 62% of UK households now own a pet. Jollyes has doubled its store estate over the last three years.

Chairman Andy Bond said: “Adam has run the business with clarity and purpose over the past six months, and I’d like to thank him for his commitment, energy and leadership. The board has been impressed with the progress made under his guidance, and we’re delighted that he’ll continue to lead the business into its next phase.”

Dury added: “It’s a real privilege to be appointed to lead this amazing business as we embark on our next chapter of growth. We have a unique and exciting opportunity to bring Jollyes to more pet parents over the next five years, bringing our special combination of value, expertise and exciting pet ranges to more customers than ever. With customer expectations of pet care rising, Jollyes will introduce fresh pet food ranges, making nutrition more accessible through outstanding value.”
