Footasylum has renewed its lease at Manchester Arndale for a further 20 years and will expand the store into a 17,000 sq ft flagship unit.
News comes as the trainers and apparel retailer is undertaking a full refit to create a larger space showcasing its full range of products and brands. The expansion forms part of the company’s wider investment in physical retail alongside its online presence.
Footasylum’s decision follows other recent lettings at the shopping centre to brands including Arc’teryx, Alo Yoga and ProDirect.
According to Manchester Arndale, the deals underline continuing demand for well-located retail space that supports customer engagement and long-term growth.
Manchester Arndale recorded 46 million visitors in 2024. The centre houses a mix of fashion, beauty and leisure operators, including BPerfect, Trailberg, Pureseoul, Hotel Chocolat, Sides, King Pins and Urban Playground.
Steve Gray, head of European retail asset management at Global Mutual, which manages the centre, said: “We are thrilled that Footasylum has chosen to not only renew but significantly expand its presence at Manchester Arndale. This is a testament to the strength of the centre and its ability to attract and retain leading retail brands.”
