Retailer Boden has announced the appointment of Glen T. Senk as the newest executive chairman replacing Julian Granville.

Senk was previously the chief executive of URBN, the listed company which includes Anthropologie, Free People and namesake Urban Outfitters.

He has been a non-executive director of Boden for four years, he has also known the retail group’s founder and creative director, Johnnie Boden, and Julian Granville for more than 20 years.

Senk said: “I am delighted to be taking up this new role, I will never forget the first time I saw a Boden catalogue more than 20 years ago.

“I knew immediately that I had come across a unique and special brand – a brand full of life, energy and authenticity. I look forward to working with Johnnie, Julian and the team to bring this successful, extraordinary brand to even more people.”

Boden added: “I have known and admired Glen for many years. He must be one of the best fashion retailers in the world.

“He combines an amazing creative understanding with a razor-sharp analytical mind. I truly believe Boden can double in size. We have huge opportunities in all our markets but especially in the US.”
