St Johns Liverpool, the largest covered shopping centre in the city of Liverpool, has announced that HMV will open a new store in the site on 20 July.

HMV will open on Williamson Square, joining over 100 other businesses within St Johns, such as JD Sports and Matalan

The store, which sells music records and memorabilia, will occupy a 10,000 square foot unit in the centre

The arrival of HMV at St Johns comes after the centre welcomed six new stores in April 2021, including Boom Battle Bar, American Candy Empire and VR Liverpool.

Phil Halliday, managing director of HMV, said: “We are delighted to be opening a new store in St Johns this July. There has been an HMV in Liverpool for many decades and we have always enjoyed sharing our enthusiasm for music, film and popular culture with the city’s community.

“As we celebrate our 100th anniversary this year, we are thrilled to be launching an even bigger and better store, and our team are looking forward to opening our doors and welcoming in St Johns’ customers very soon.”

Neil Ashcroft, centre manager at St Johns Liverpool, added: “HMV is an iconic and enduring brand, and we are delighted to have them joining us in St Johns this July.

“St Johns has been an important part of the community for over 50 years and the arrival of HMV in the centre is a real cause for celebration. We’re thrilled to have our shoppers back and we’re even more delighted to be bringing them new, exciting stores for 2021.”
