Phil began his career behind the lens as a commercial advertising photographer, working with global brands to hone a distinct visual language. But in 2016, he decided to step out from behind the camera to build a brand of his own.

JML has announced the appointment of Susan Aubrey-Cound and Simon Hathway as new non-executive directors of its board.

The retail group, which owns brands such as Doktor Power, Walkmaxx, Chillmax, and Phoenix Gold, has promoted Kevin Dickens to the position of group marketing director as part of its growth plans.

Aubrey-Cound’s recent roles include being director of multichannel development at Marks & Spencer and chief executive of ecommerce at the Daily Mail Group.

Hathaway has 23 years of experience in the retail sector, having worked in senior positions at Sainsbury’s, AS Watson and Wilko.

Before his recent promotion to group marketing director, Dickens has been working with the company for ten years and was previously responsible for video content production for JML.

Speaking on the new appointments, Ken Daily, JML’s chief executive, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Susan and Simon are joining us.

“They are well-respected figures in the retail industry and their appointments reflect our commitment to continued growth, equally through our ecommerce business and together with our wholesale network, both in the UK and internationally.”

Hathway said: “I’ve known JML for many years and am delighted to be joining a business that is a global leader for innovative consumer products and is really evolving the way that it connects with its customers.

“I look forward to supporting the next exciting phase of growth and development
Ahead.”

On her appointment, Aubrey-Cound said: “JML’s dynamic team have built a strong foundation for growth based on product innovation and channel development.

“I’m excited to be joining the board at such an interesting time, and look forward to working with the team to evolve the business.”
