Dr Martens’ chief product officer Adam Meek announced over the weekend (28 February) that he has stepped down from his role at the shoe retailer.
Meek was responsible for leading product merchandising, design, development and innovation for the global brand.
It is currently unclear whether Dr Marten has started its search for Meek’s replacement.
Prior to holding the chief product officer role for four years, Meek served two years at outerwear and clothing retaile Canada Goose.
He also gained experience at Nike, where he was director of merchandising sportswear for a year until 2015.
In a LinkedIn post, Meek said: “After four unforgettable years, I’ve now stepped away from my role as chief product officer at Dr Martens. Together we navigated complex change, sharpened brand clarity, evolved the product architecture and portfolio, and delivered new energy into the market which is exciting consumers around the world.
“I’m proud of the work we did to reconnect products to purpose and consumer, to strengthen the brand, and to bring fresh ideas to life at scale. Most of all, I’m grateful and thankful for the brilliant people I had the chance to work with – and the many friendships formed along the way. The people at Docs are special.”
He added: “As I look ahead, I’m excited about the next chapter in my life – continuing to build, create and lead at the intersection of brand, product and consumer.”
