The chief executive of specialist furniture retailer ScS Steve Carson is stepping down from his role, City AM has reported.
Carson, who is leaving the retailer this summer, oversaw the £99m takeover deal of ScS by Italian retailer Poltronesofá in October 2023. Poltronesofá currently operates 167 stores in Italy, 106 in France and 27 more across Europe.
He has been CEO of the company since November 2020, after spending more than two years as managing director of Holland and Barrett. He also previously held roles at Home Retail Group, Homebase and Sainsbury’s.
A spokesperson for the ScS group said: Steve has decided that now is the right time to move on from ScS. He will depart knowing the group’s future is bright, having played a central role in bringing about considerable investment via a new ownership structure and enabling transformative progression with a rebranding exercise.
“He leaves with a strong legacy and the thanks of the entire business and new ownership for his effort and drive in pursuit of a clear purpose to support customers in “Helping create a home they love”. Steve departs in July and will ensure a smooth transition.”
