Homebase has announced that it has extended its partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support for another three years, with a new aim of working together to provide home-related grants.

The grant, which is a one-off payment of £350, will support those affected by cancer, and their families with the extra costs that living with cancer can bring.

Furthemore, the grant can be used towards essentials, home upgrades and energy bills to items that can improve day to day living such as duvets, microwaves, clothing and washing machines.

Special product promotions will also be rolled out to raise money for the charity, with the Homebase team taking part in themed Macmillan activities and challenges.

Claire Abercrombie, director of customer and communications, Homebase, said: “Our team voted to work with Macmillan and have done an excellent job over the last two years raising money to help support its services in communities across the UK.

“By making a longer-term commitment to our partnership we can focus our support on home-related grants and help those living with cancer feel safe and comfortable in their homes.”

Natasha Parker, head of corporate partnerships, Macmillan, added: “I’m extremely proud of all the work Homebase has already done to raise over £100,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

“Thank you to Homebase for your continued support, and I look forward to seeing what our partnership can achieve over the next three years.”
