Luxe Collective to be revived following Fashionphile acquisition
The new venture, Fashionphile Collective, will act as the UK division of the resale group, which describes itself as the ‘world’s largest pre-loved luxury company’.

Six months after closing the £10m business, Luxe Collective and its founders have returned to the luxury resale market through a new partnership with US company Fashionphile.
The deal covers Luxe Collective’s intellectual property, customer database and social media assets. The Liverpool-based resale business entered insolvency in May. Its website and social media channels, including an Instagram account with 650,000 followers, will be rebranded under the new ownership.
Co-founder Joe Gallagher said in a Linkedin post that the decision to close the business, which he built with his brother over seven years, had been “one of the hardest” of his life. “During the process, we felt like we’d let people down and didn’t feel worthy of the community or platform we had built,” he said.
Luxe Collective, which specialised in pre-owned designer goods, had previously modelled parts of its business on Fashionphile, a US-based reseller founded more than 20 years ago by Sarah Davis and her brother-in-law Ben Hemminger. The company reports annual revenue of about $500m (£376m).
The revival comes after Gallagher revealed he first contacted Davis while visiting New York last year and after Luxe Collective closed in May 2025, the brothers contacted Fashionphile again to discuss a possible asset sale. Instead, Davis and Hemminger proposed a partnership, inviting the pair to lead the brand’s UK expansion.
Gallagher said the meeting “reignited” their enthusiasm for the sector: “Their passion, ambition and excitement around us inspired us to join their team. They made us see the vision – there was no way we could say no.”
