Aldi has pledged to provide virtual work experience to 10,000 young people across the UK by the end of 2025.
The free online course is open to students aged 13 and over and introduces participants to careers in retail, including warehouse operations, store management and office-based roles.
It includes videos from Aldi employees, interactive quizzes and activities, with students receiving a certificate on completion to support future applications.
The programme was first launched in December 2024 and has already attracted thousands of sign-ups from students seeking work experience, which remains difficult to access in many areas following disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Alongside the scheme, Aldi plans to recruit more than 350 apprentices in 2025, with roles available in stores across the country.
Lisa Murphy, training and development director at Aldi UK, said: “We know how important work experience is in helping young people take their first steps into the world of work. Our virtual work experience programme has already proved popular with thousands of students, and we want to ensure even more benefit from it.”
