Asos has announced the appointment of independent director Natasja Laheij as chair, with effect from its full-year 2025 results, as Jørgen Lindemann prepares to step down from the role.
Laheij, who joined the board in April 2023, is currently senior independent director and chair of the audit committee. She has previously held senior finance roles at Apple, Amazon and Google, and is interim chief financial officer at HR software company Personio until September 2025.
Meanwhile, William Barker, founder and chief executive of US investment firm Camelot Capital Partners, has been named deputy chair with immediate effect. He joined the Asos board in September 2023 and will continue to waive his board fees.
Lindemann, who became chair in August 2022, will leave the board following an “orderly handover” at the end of his current term. He is also chief executive of Swedish streaming group Viaplay.
Asos said a process to appoint a new audit committee chair is under way. Director José Manuel Martínez Gutiérrez will succeed Laheij as senior independent director.
José Antonio Ramos Calamonte, chief executive of Asos, said: “I would like to extend my deepest thanks to Jørgen, whose support has been invaluable to Asos throughout his tenure on the board. I look forward to working closely with Natasja given her extensive governance experience, and with William given his knowledge of Asos and operational expertise as we continue to execute our strategy.”
Lindemann added: “It has been a privilege to serve on the Asos board over the last four years, throughout an incredibly important period for the business. I am confident that we have the right leadership to deliver sustainable, profitable growth.”
