Lindt expands UK retail footprint with new Cotswolds outlet

Founded in Zurich 180 years ago, Lindt and Sprüngli operates 12 production sites in Europe and the United States

Swiss chocolate maker Lindt and Sprüngli is set to open its latest UK store at the newly built Cotswolds Designer Outlet.

The 1,318 sq ft site will feature a Lindt Chocolate Bar offering hot chocolate, milkshakes, coffee and Lindt Crema Gelata ice cream, as well as a Pick & Mix counter with 32 chocolate varieties.

Opening on 16 July, it becomes Lindt’s 26th retail site in the UK, following the recent opening of a flagship store at Piccadilly Circus in London.

Founded in Zurich 180 years ago, Lindt and Sprüngli operates 12 production sites in Europe and the United States.

The group sells its products through 38 subsidiaries and branch offices, around 560 company-owned shops and more than 100 distributors worldwide. It employs about 15,000 people and reported sales of £4.82bn in 2024.

Faythe King, director of retail, direct-to-consumer and e-commerce, said: “We’re thrilled to be opening our 26th Lindt Chocolate Shop in the heart of the British countryside. The Cotswolds is a highly sought-after destination for visitors and tourists from across the UK and beyond, so to have a permanent presence at the brand-new Designer Outlet felt like a natural next step for us.

“This year is particularly special for us as we’re celebrating our 180th anniversary, and what better way to celebrate than bringing the exquisite taste of Lindt Chocolate to one of the UK’s most renowned rural settings.”
