Frasers Group has announced that it has lowered its stake in Currys just over a year after making an investment into the retailer.

The group has lowered its holdings in the electricals business from 10.9% to 2.8%.

The news comes after in June 2023 Frasers had made a “strategic investment” in Currys.

At the time in an official announcement Frasers said: “Our investment in Currys provides us with a valuable opportunity to build on our foothold in the electricals industry as well as deepening the existing relationship between Currys and Studio, with the potential for further collaboration between the two.

“Through this investment, we also believe Currys will benefit from Frasers’ deep retail know-how and our sector-leading ecosystem.”

Frasers Group has been contacted for comment.
