Cribbs Mall has announced that Sweaty Betty will be opening a new 1,714 sq ft store at the West Country shopping centre.

The activewear retailer’s arrival comes as the shopping centre experienced a bumper 2023, with over 110,000 sq ft of leasing activity that took the occupancy rate to nearly 100%.

In the past 12 months, Cribbs Mall has also welcomed Victoria’s Secret, Mango, Charles Tyrwhitt, and Greggs.

Meanwhile, 28 other retailers have renewed their leases, including Boots, Waterstones, and Fat Face.

Andrea Gray, retail director at Sweaty Betty, said: “We’re delighted to be opening the doors to our new store in Cribbs Mall, and we can’t wait to welcome our Bristol customers to experience our new concept store.”

Earlier this year, Phase Eight also opened its new expanded 4,146 sq ft store at Cribbs Mall, adding to the range of fashion brands on offer at Cribbs Mall.

The presence of these established brands helped footfall at Cribbs Mall grow by 8% over 2023, helping it maintain its position as one of the South West’s “leading” attractions.

Scott Linard, portfolio director at M&G Real Estate, added: “We are delighted that Sweaty Betty has selected Cribbs Mall as its latest location in the South West and we expect their arrival to be very popular amongst the centre’s shoppers.

“It has been great to welcome several big name brands over the past 12 months as we continue to add to the diverse retail offering to ensure there is something for everyone at Cribbs Mall. We are in talks with several brands interested in taking the last couple of available units at Cribbs Mall, so we hope to announce more new arrivals soon.”
