Swatch to open store in Liverpool One

On this episode of Talking Shop I’m joined by Alain Bejjani—former Group CEO of Middle East retail giant Majid Al Futtaim, and author of the definitive new book, NEXT: Leading Through the New Realities. Drawing on his childhood in war-torn Beirut, and his experience steering a $9.5bn dollar retail and lifestyle empire through a global pandemic, Alain brings an unmatched perspective on leadership under pressure. Today, we break down his crisis survival playbook for retailers operating in distress. We discuss why resilience must always outpace efficiency, the four assets a brand must protect at all costs, and how to turn macro-turmoil into a long-term direction that scales.

Swiss watch brand Swatch is set to open a new store in Liverpool One shopping centre.

Joining the destination’s line-up of prestigious brands, Swatch will reside in a 600 sq ft space on Paradise Street.

The unit is set to host over 500 different watches on display, showcasing a selection of classic and contemporary options from a range of collections.

In line with the brand’s tech-first approach, the shop will offer an immersive atmosphere, allowing consumers to interact with the products, as well as featuring a Swatch X You space, for customers to create and personalise their watches.

Rob Deacon, asset management director at Grosvenor, said: “Swatch’s decision to return to Liverpool One with its latest standalone concept store is a testament to our continued commitment to curating an innovative and distinctly unique line-up of retailers.

“We are hugely excited to be welcoming Swatch back to the city, and feel confident that it will sit comfortably among our stellar selection of watch and jewellery brands.”
