Department store Selfridges has recently launched The Stock Market at the Corner Shop, a month-long circular experience where customers can uncover the value of what they already own, exchange items and restore or upcycle clothes.

Inspired by the London Stock Exchange, the Corner Shop has been transformed into a ‘trading floor’, with a ‘trading desk’ which encourages customers to enhance the value of their products to keep or resell. Selfridges stockbrokers will show visitors the variety of services available from SOJO, SneakersER, The Handbag Clinic and Vintage Threads.

The initiative is part of Worn Again, a season of secondhand and circular shopping experiences running until August. Worn Again was designed in line with Selfridges aim to have 45% of transactions coming from circular products and services by 2030.

The services provided at The Stock Market include authentications of pre-loved clothes and accessories, repairs and restoration of leather items and shoes as well as tailoring to any clothes. In addition, a series of upcyclers in residence will be available for £10 two-hour sessions to demonstrate different ways to revive wardrobes.

The Stock Market will be open until 10 June.
