On this episode we're joined by Florian Clemens, Strategy and Proposition Director at Tesco Media, to unpack how retail media is evolving at speed — and what Tesco Media’s role looks like inside the wider Tesco ecosystem. We explore the “win-win-win” promise for shoppers, brands and retailers, the power of contextual relevance, and why Tesco calls its offering “video, reimagined.” Plus, we’ll look ahead to GenAI creativity, automation, and what brands should do now to prepare for retail media’s next phase.

Morrisons has revealed that it will be expanding its partnership with InPost, which will see the amount of lockers in the supermarkets rise to 390 by the end of January 2023.

The partnership, which started in 2014, sees Morrisons currently offering around 290 lockers.

The expansion will ensure that nearly 80% of all Morrisons stores in the UK host a locker as an additional service.

As a result, lockers will be available at new locations which include Croydon, Bradford, Glastonbury, Dumfries and Newport. In addition to the new parcel lockers, several of InPost’s existing lockers will be extended.

InPost parcel lockers are reportedly available all day, every day and offer “ultimate flexibility”.

Jamie Winter, procurement director at Morrisons, said: “At Morrisons, we always put our customers first, and are constantly looking for ways to make their lives easier. InPost parcel lockers provide them with the ultimate convenience by allowing them to pick up and return their parcels while they’re visiting our stores, instead of having to go out of their way.

“Increasing the number of lockers available at our stores enables us to serve our communities even further, particularly in the run up to the busy Christmas period, as well as heading into the New Year.”

Michael Rouse, CEO of InPost International, added: “We’re hoping the installation of around 100 new parcel lockers by the end of January brings an added festive cheer to Morrisons shoppers.

“Online shopping is here to stay and that’s exactly where our lockers come in. Morrisons shoppers no longer need to make additional trips to stand in lengthy queues to return items, they can now do so while visiting the supermarket, at a time that suits them best.”
