In this episode we speak to Matt Dalton, consumer sector leader at Forvis Mazars. Matt discussed the biggest challenges facing the retail sector, from cost pressures and wage increases to polarised property markets and geopolitical shocks, and the ways in which retailers can best navigate these. We also explore how short-term cost-cutting could undermine long-term resilience, and how retailers can best remain agile and adaptable in unforecastable times.

iCandy has announced the appointment of Cath Needham as the company’s new head of sales this week.

Needham is said to be an experienced national account manager with 30 years of experience within the nursery industry. She joined the company from Emmaljunga Limited.

As head of sales, Needham will be responsible for leading the overall sales strategy for the business alongside managing and developing the sales department.

iCandy is a family business, which was first established in 1933 as a fashion design and manufacturing company in London. By the late 1970s and by the 1980s, the business began designing and manufacturing children’s cycle helmets and child care safety seats before developing a range of widely sold nursery products.

In 2007, after over 70 years of research and development iCandy launched its first multi-configuration pushchair, the Apple 2 Pear, which is a single to double pushchair on a single footprint.

Martin Boyle, managing director of iCandy, said: “We are delighted to welcome Cath to the team here at iCandy. She brings a breadth of unique sales experience, which we know will prove invaluable at an incredibly exciting time for the company.”

Needham added: “Having known and loved the iCandy brand for many years, I am very excited about joining such an innovative and passionate team.

“iCandy combines the very best of ground-breaking design concepts with a true understanding of their end consumer, and I am really looking forward to helping the business to achieve further success both within the UK and internationally.”
