Wilko has announced the appointment of Amanda Jones as its new retail director, with Jones set to assume the role this coming July.

She joins the group’s leadership team from Post Office Ltd, where she is currently Retail and Franchise Network director.

According to the group, she will bring “strong” retail expertise to the new role, having previously held senior leadership positions at a number of retailers including John Lewis, Waitrose, and Marks and Spencer.

Wilko CEO Jerome Saint-Marc said: “With a passion for products, stores and customers, alongside a high level of enthusiasm to drive transformational change I have every confidence that Amanda will bring a fantastic set of skills to lead our retail team as we continue to develop our transformation and omni-channel journey as we Power to 2030.”

Jones added: “I’m delighted to be joining wilko at this exciting time in its transformation journey and I very much look forward to leading the retail team.”
