Oxford Street to launch sustainability initiative

Designed to provide shoppers with more sustainable retail choices, the programme will feature contributions from a number of brands operating on the iconic London street

Oxford Street has announced the launch of a sustainability campaign on 15 September as a part of its ‘Beyond Now’ scheme.

Designed to provide shoppers with more sustainable retail choices, the programme will feature contributions from a number of brands operating on the iconic London street.

A range of sustainable innovation initiatives are taking place throughout September, including upcycling stations, workshops, and conscious collection releases.

As for individual company involvement, John Lewis is set to host a sustainability festival, showcasing “the very best products for sustainable living”.

Fashion firms such as New Balance and Urban Outfitters will be providing free shoe cleaning workshops and clothing recycling shops respectively.

Other brands involved in the Beyond Now scheme include Nike, Selfrdidges, H&M, Lush, and Tezenis.

Finally, Oxford Street announced that it has partnered with Candice Brathwaite, the author and presenter, to launch its inaugural destination-wide edit, featuring a 50-piece capsule collection from “responsible and conscious” collections of the scheme’s participating brands.
