Arcadia COO resigns after 25 years at the group

Arcadia has confirmed that COO David Shepherd has resigned following 25 years at the group.

He had begun his career on the shop floor before working his way up to oversee the running of Topman. He took on the COO role in 2012.

According to a filing on Companies House, Shepherd quit from his role at the end of last month.

This follows reports that owner Philip Green is preparing to break up the retail group to prepare for a potential sale of the brands, according to a report from The Sunday Times.

According to the report, Arcadia has already started to “untangle shared functions” such as IT and HR for the break up, with the work being handled by CEO Ian Grabiner.

Green has begun “laying the groundwork to split and sell parts” of the company over a “period of time”.
