The Body Shop has announced the appointments of Penny Brook and Sally Dowling as its new chief marketing officer and chief financial and operations officer, respectively.

Brook began her marketing career at Mulberry England where she worked as an international marketing manager for a year.

She then moved on to work with brands such as Clarks, DuoBoots, Philips, Canada Goose and Polar Bears International.

Meanwhile, Dowling joins The Body Shop from The Parts Alliance where she worked as chief financial officer for four years.

Prior to working at The Parts Alliance, Dowling has worked as vice president – Finance and IT International Division at Dawn Food Products in the Netherlands, moving on to Westbridge Food Group where she took on the role of a group finance director for almost five years.

In a LinkedIn post, The Body Shop, said: “Their appointment reflects our two priorities as a business going forward: To delight customers around the world with trailblazing innovations and the highest standards of ethical beauty; and to bring the company back to fiscal health, building a sustainable company in the truest sense, which can last for decades to come. We are so excited to have them on board.”

Brook added: “The Body Shop team have long carried the torch of what it means to build a purpose driven brand, a brand that puts people and planet at the heart of its decision making; and it’s a childhood dream of mine to be joining them.

“The Body Shop has always been ahead of the curve, and today its approach to business is more relevant and needed than ever. Anita Roddick inspired the 12-year-old ‘me’ to believe in my potential – my ambition is that The Body Shop continues to inspire generations to believe in their value and accomplish their dreams too. Thank you to Charles Denton and Mike Jatania and the entire team for the warm welcome – I’m thrilled to be writing this next Body Shop chapter with you.”
