Arket to open first store in Ireland

On this episode of Talking Shop I’m joined by Alain Bejjani—former Group CEO of Middle East retail giant Majid Al Futtaim, and author of the definitive new book, NEXT: Leading Through the New Realities. Drawing on his childhood in war-torn Beirut, and his experience steering a $9.5bn dollar retail and lifestyle empire through a global pandemic, Alain brings an unmatched perspective on leadership under pressure. Today, we break down his crisis survival playbook for retailers operating in distress. We discuss why resilience must always outpace efficiency, the four assets a brand must protect at all costs, and how to turn macro-turmoil into a long-term direction that scales.

Nordic fashion and lifestyle brand Arket continued its expansion in Europe with the opening of a flagship store in Dublin during 2024, the first destination in Ireland.

Based in Sweden, Arket is a modern-day market and lifestyle brand. The collections offer ready-to-wear and accessories for women, men, and children, complemented by interior essentials for the home.

The Dublin store will be a lifestyle destination combining “timeless” wardrobe staples with current seasonal trends.

In store, customers will also find the Arket Café, developed and led by Swedish chef Martin Berg. With the mission to promote natural flavours and healthy ingredients, the café offers a vegetarian menu, seasonal pastries, and organic specialty coffees.

Arket managing director, Pernilla Wohlfahrt, said: “We are very excited to announce this upcoming store opening of our Arket flagship store in Dublin and to finally meet our Irish customers face-to-face. The store will enable us to present our full brand experience and build a closer relationship with them.”
