Asda is set to open its second standalone George concept store in Hull on 31 October, as part of plans to replace its Asda Living brand with the George format nationwide.

The new store, located at Anlaby Retail Park, follows the pilot site at Crown Point in Leeds, which opened in May.

It will feature George’s new Christmas range, including clothing, decorations and gifts, alongside a home department with interiors and lifestyle products. The store will also offer toys, baby items and Click and Collect services.

Asda stated that the Leeds store has performed “strongly since its relaunch, with positive feedback from customers on its layout and product range”.

The Hull opening forms part of Asda’s plan to introduce up to 10 additional George stores across the UK next year.

The expansion aims to strengthen its non-food offering and improve the in-store experience with a more modern format.

Liz Evans, George managing director, said: “Our pilot George store in Leeds has been a tremendous success, thanks to the dedication of our colleagues and the fantastic response from customers.

“Building on that momentum, we’re excited to bring the stand-alone George store concept to Hull, giving more customers the opportunity to enjoy an easy-to-shop experience that celebrates everything they know and love about George.”
