The Perfume Shop to open new experiential store in Barnsley

The Perfume Shop is set to open a new experiential store at Barnsley’s Alhambra Shopping Centre on 19 September, the latest milestone in its nationwide expansion and refurbishment programme.

The refreshed Cheapside store features a new layout and upgraded services, including a digital screen, personalised ribbon machine, and the retailer’s signature fragrance consultations, complimentary gift wrapping, and bottle recycling scheme, which offers customers 15% off their next purchase.

Sustainability is also a key focus of the refurbishment, with energy-efficient LED lighting installed to help the retailer meet its target of cutting energy consumption by 30% by 2030 compared with 2015 levels. 

Contractors used on the project are ISO14001 accredited, and materials and equipment have been reused where possible.

To celebrate the launch, the store will give away a free bottle of fragrance to the first 30 customers spending over £80 from Friday 19 September.

Michelle, store manager at The Perfume Shop Barnsley, said: “It’s fantastic to see our store refreshed and ready to welcome customers back. 

“We’ve traded in The Alhambra Centre for nearly 20 years, and we’re excited to show off the new look while continuing to offer the expert advice and personal touches our shoppers love.”
