Knight Frank appointed retail leasing agent for 8 Eaton Lane

On this episode of Talking Shop I’m joined by Alain Bejjani—former Group CEO of Middle East retail giant Majid Al Futtaim, and author of the definitive new book, NEXT: Leading Through the New Realities. Drawing on his childhood in war-torn Beirut, and his experience steering a $9.5bn dollar retail and lifestyle empire through a global pandemic, Alain brings an unmatched perspective on leadership under pressure. Today, we break down his crisis survival playbook for retailers operating in distress. We discuss why resilience must always outpace efficiency, the four assets a brand must protect at all costs, and how to turn macro-turmoil into a long-term direction that scales.

Knight Frank’s retail leasing team has been appointed as the exclusive retail and restaurant leasing agent of 8 Eaton Lane in Belgravia.

The Grade II listed building was originally designed by Thomas Cundy III to provide serviced residential apartments. Following a restoration and redevelopment it will now be home to new residents, retail and restaurant occupiers.

According to Knight Frank, the development is being “brought meticulously back to life” by CIT, in a joint venture with Bain Capital, to provide a collection of curated retail and restaurant spaces, as well as 42 residences.

Located in Belgravia, London, 8 Eaton Lane offers a “unique opportunity for premium retail and dining brands seeking a presence in a timeless location with strong footfall and connectivity”.

Jonathan Eastwood, head of the Retail Agency team at Knight Frank, said: “We are delighted to be working with Bain Capital and CIT on this landmark development,” said. “8 Eaton Lane presents a rare opportunity to introduce a distinctive blend of retail and restaurant operators to one of London’s most desirable addresses.

“We look forward to bringing a carefully selected mix of occupiers to complement the quality and character of this stunning development. We expect to fully launch the space in September and already have a list of enquiries.”

The retail and restaurant spaces will soon be released, with completion of the development anticipated for 2026.
